They say sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but in the right hands in the right situation, it can be a whole lot more. Grouch Marx used it as comedy prop his whole career and it’s almost impossible to think of legendary actor and comedian George Burns without one. In many films, the cigar has come to represent masculinity and power, and is often used in movies to either showcase how menacing a bad guy can be or, typically, after the good guy vanquishes his foes, lighting one up in celebration.
