Christmas is almost here! If you need some last minute gift ideas, you’ve come to the right place. These origami stars are just the cutest and they are really sentimental too. Also, (and you don’t need to tell anyone this part) they are really easy to do.
So, remember how I was talking about the Eggnog Doughnut Cookies being a great, light alternative to all the heavy Christmas goodies? Well, this is exactly what I was talking about. These bars are so rich and delicious that by the time I finished “testing” them I was so full! I had to, though, for your benefit. I couldn’t post a recipe that wasn’t 100% delicious and this one really is. I’d go as far as to say that it’s my favourite baked good of the holiday season. I could eat this all day long, but then I’d weigh 300 pounds. Sigh.
Christmas is exactly one week away! How did this happen? I can’t believe it. This week has been a doozy for me. Sorry for the lack of posts but there will be delicious food recipes and more DIYs next week to make up for it so keep your eyes peeled. Tonight at 5:30 can’t come soon enough; it’s been one of those weeks. And although I’ll be at my hubby’s work Christmas party, I really wish I could snuggle up on the couch with some wine, some of the recipe I’ll be posting next week (it’s cheesecake, shh!), and this movie. It always makes me so happy inside and so full of Christmas spirit.
Christmas Eve is 10 days away! Can you believe it? I can’t. It’s come so quickly this year. It’s funny how so much thought and preparation can be put into a day or an event and then before you know it, it’s come and gone. But this is life. And, luckily, Christmas comes every year! I just finished ALL my baking over the weekend and it turned out so well! I like to give a small tin of baked good to close friends and family for Christmas gifts so be prepared for a couple sweet recipes coming your way this week and maybe even a couple next week leading up to the big day.
It’s time to cast your vote! Which bathroom brawl did it best? I hope they washed their hands afterwards…

As the holidays are getting into full swing, it was time to do a holiday podcast about our favourite traditions, Christmas memories and Christmas songs that we love. We even sing them for you! Join the conversation in the comments. What is your favourite Christmas festivity?
This week we put horror movies aside (travesty, I know!) for a good ole traditional Christmas movie. I’ve picked one that isn’t too popular so hopefully you haven’t seen it already. This is my mom’s all-time favourite Christmas movie so it quickly became a staple at our household. It might be a little emotionally manipulative (listen to some thoughts on manipulation in movies here) but you’ve been forewarned. And it’s a Christmas movie, so what do you expect?
What’s this? Two DIY posts in one week? Inconceivable! Well, here’s the deal, I’m doing all my Christmas baking this weekend – that means that you’ll be getting lovely recipes all week long next week. As such, it’s only fair that you get extra DIY posts this week. And these snow globes are just too adorable. Aren’t snow globes magical? I think so. But then again, maybe I’ve watched The Santa Clause too many times. Either way, I love the sparkle and the Christmasness (I’m making this a word) of them. Want to make some of your own? It’s easy!
Who doesn’t love the holidays? Christmas really is the hap-hapiest time of the year. I start celebrating in my heart on November 1st (the second that Halloween is over), but apparently this is a little crazy to people like my husband who can only get into the spirit after December 1st. As such, I’ve held off on Christmas posts up until this point but from here on in, it’s all Christmas all the time. That means holiday recipes, Christmas movies, fun decor projects and DIY Christmas gifts. Lucky you.
Another week, another podcast. This week we discuss manipulative movies. What are your thoughts? Join the conversation is the comments!
Podcast runtime: 30 minutes. This week on the Random Chat Show, Melissa wonders why she can’t play video game characters in different games, David talks about bad sex, and Kim gets us going on movies that are super manipulative, which leads to a heated debate about how Rose denied Jack a chance to live after the Titanic sank. Plus, top three sidekicks! It’s all Random.
