Welcome back, my lovelies! It’s been a while hasn’t it? I’ve missed you all terribly and now it’s time to get back to work.
GUYS! The dinning room set is finally done! Can you believe it?! I can’t! I feel like I’ve been working on it FOREVER. That being said, I did take some pretty lengthy breaks in between some of the steps but still, I’ve been at this for a very long time. When I put the piping on the last chair it was such a moment of pride and exhilaration. Have you ever worked on a project that took you a really long time to complete? Then you know how I was feeling when the last touches were finally applied. A-freaking-mazing!
Hey guys, sorry this post is coming late in the day – I’ve been so busy today! Eeek! I’ve been busy in general lately and haven’t been keeping up with all of the other lovely blogs out there either. So sorry about that. I’m going to make more of an effort to keep up with it. If I’ve missed one of your recent posts, it’s not intentional, I promise! Please post a link to it in the comments if you want me to read it and I will definitely do so. I’ll also do my best to go back and read them without your prompting.
Happy Monday, all! Remember when I made over my dinning room set? Yeah, that was a LONG time ago. I actually finished the upholstery not long thereafter but I never got around to editing the video and then I kind of forgot about it. Well, here it is in all it’s glory. This was a lot simpler than I thought it would be so if you have a similar project on the go, don’t be afraid to jump right in.
For those of you who would like to see the process, here are the previous steps in this project:
- Dinning Room Set Makeover Part 1
- Dinning Room Set Makeover Part 2
- Dinning Room Set Makeover Part 3
- Dinning Room Set Makeover Part 4
- Dinning Room Set Makeover Part 5
I know I say in the video that I will give a price breakdown for all the aspects of this makeover and I will, I’m just going to finish posting the last two upholstery videos after this one and then I will do a recap post with all that info.
Have a lovely start to your week!
Well, this series took long enough. I’ve actually had the painting done for quiet a while now but I had to put the video together and then there were other posts that I got caught up in, so that’s that. But this is the last instalment (at least for painting). I have two separate posts coming for the upholstery (which is currently done! Woohoo!) and I couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out!
PAINTING IS DONE! Today we did the final coat of white on the base of the table and the second coat of grey on the table top. And, if I don’t mind saying so myself, it looks fan-freaking-tastic. It is sooooooo beautiful. I feel unreasonably emotionally attached to it.
A couple notes now that the painting portion is done: Read more
Today I did the first coat for the top of the table… I freaking LOVE it. I thought this colour might be too dark, but it’s perfect! Couldn’t be any better. As you can see in the picture, it does dry lighter than it looks while still in the bottle. This is common with any paint but I hadn’t used this particular paint before so I wasn’t sure. Read more
This dining room set is going to be EPIC. I am so out-of-this-world excited! When I first laid eyes on this set, I fell in love. My husband and I joke all the time that our house is the house Kijiji built. I refuse to pay overpriced retail prices, so I go to tent sales, store clearances, garage sales (my favourite Saturday activity!) and I thrift as if my life depended on it. Hunting items down on Kijiji is almost a full time job. New things are loaded every minute and the good items are gone just as quickly. I have a whole system for snatching up the best deals, but that is a topic for another blog.
