It’s summer and that means that almost everything in our household gets made on the barbecue. There’s nothing better than doing 15 minutes of prep inside and then moving out to the patio and just sitting and relaxing outside while cooking up your dinner. Well, I don’t think there’s much better. It really is the little things sometimes.
I know, I know, I know… I said I was back on track and then I went a week without putting up a post. It is so hard to get back into a routine once you’ve let it slide. I feel like a broken record but I really am (mostly) back on track now and I actually have A LOT of projects lined up. I’ve been going to yard sales (my favourite!) and I have lots of stuff to show you so please keep posted! Now, all that aside, I’ve also been whipping up some to-die-for recipes (and they’re healthy!) that you are going to love. This just so happens to be one of my recent favourites.
This was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. I made the biggest pasta bake and it was so delicious that I really didn’t mind having it for dinner three nights in a row. You know what that means? That means I didn’t have to cook at all two nights this week. That’s a big deal. Not that cooking is a huge hardship but it’s nice to know that there is a well rounded homemade meal waiting for you when you get home and all you have to do is heat it up.
Hey there, all you foodies out there! Who’s hungry? This was something I threw together in ten minutes flat and the flavours were really delicious together so I decided to share it with y’all.
Howdy there! I know I’ve done a couple versions of healthy muffins but these ones are the easiest. I honestly threw this together after work last night and was done with the whole thing in 30 minutes. That’s the time frame that I like. And these are pretty darn delicious and they’re healthy. Win, win, win!
Is there anything better than going to sleep on Sunday night knowing that the lunches for the week are made and ready to go? Probably, but not much. It’s such a weight to be lifted off your shoulders what with everything else that life throws at you. I’ve gotten into the habit of doing it and when I don’t have time on Sunday to do it, it really does throw off my week. So, I’ve wrangled up some of my favourite go to recipes for you.
So, remember how I was talking about the Eggnog Doughnut Cookies being a great, light alternative to all the heavy Christmas goodies? Well, this is exactly what I was talking about. These bars are so rich and delicious that by the time I finished “testing” them I was so full! I had to, though, for your benefit. I couldn’t post a recipe that wasn’t 100% delicious and this one really is. I’d go as far as to say that it’s my favourite baked good of the holiday season. I could eat this all day long, but then I’d weigh 300 pounds. Sigh.
So, up here in Canada the weather is getting a little colder, the days are getting shorter and the desire to do anything at all when I get home from work is getting smaller and smaller. You know what that means? It means that it’s time to bust out the slow cooker, the best small kitchen appliance of all time! Nothing is quite as satisfying as coming home after a long day (especially when it’s dark and cold outside) to the smell of deliciousness and your food being hot and ready for eating. Just writing this makes me happy and what I made in my slow cooker this week made me even happier. Pot roast. Two of the most delicious words of all time.
Hello lovelies! I know the recipes have been a little lacking lately so today you get two for the price of one. Lucky devils. What brings about this joyous news? you may ask. Well, it’s my unwavering love for pesto. Remember when we made all that pesto and froze it into an ice cube tray? If not, check out that post here. In that post I promised to give you some ideas on how to use that pesto. Albeit, that was at the end of June and it is now November but better late than never I always say!
Good morning, everyone! Today’s recipe is particularly delicious and can be made in one night and feed you for the rest of the week (depending on your appetite). This lasted my husband and I for three dinners and we didn’t get sick of it because it was just that good! This was 100% a kitchen raid. I had so many vegetables piling up that I needed to get rid of so I decided to make a giant veggie lasagna. I did add some ground chicken to it for some lean protein but you could just as easily leave it out if you’re a vegetarian and I’m sure it would be just as scrumptious.
